About this event

This one day class will cover the basics of photography from a boat, including composition, settings, protecting your equipment from the elements, and a discussion of post-production techniques. You'll need a camera (and a boat), but whether it's a professional camera with a 500mm lens or a camera phone, we'll have some fun capturing wildlife from the water.

We will put in at Belvoir Place in Laurelhurst. Park on 42nd Ave NE, here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/nfLJWMY4gBdskPNR6 We'll paddle around Union Bay, which is a lovely maze of marsh grass and piers that birds are fond of.

We'll start a little earlier than most trips, to avoid the heat of the day and to get better light for pictures.

About me, your instructor: My name is Sam. I've been a professional photographer for nearly 20 years, and though I focus (ha- see what I did there?) mostly on performance arts, like circus and dance, I also shoot a lot of wildlife and landscapes. You can see my work, if you'd like, at www.sanderlingphotography.com
